AFFORDABLE HOME DECOR DIY IDEAS
Decorating your house can be quite expensive and a long process. If you don’t want to do it on your own, you can hire a decorator, but if you don’t have the budget for it, you need to do it on your own. Luckily, there are a ton of home decor DIY projects you can browse on the internet, and you can choose anything that fit your budget and skills. I also have quite a few home decor DIY videos up here, but I also selected a few of my favorites, that I found on the internet and saved in my to do library!
Hand-dyed napkins and placemats
This DIY is perfect for spring and summer, when you want to freshen up your dining linens. They look amazing with plain white china and dishes! Use any color that fits your style and aesthetic of your dining room. For spring and summer opt for pastels or brighter colors, they will definitely spice up your dining table.
Fabric covered knobs
I’m a huge fan of switching out knobs and handles, when you want to change something in a space. It is barely anything, but it adds so much to a room. This DIY is perfect, because you don’t even have to buy new knobs, you just need to cover them with a new fabric, and the result will be amazing!
Nesting bowl pendant light
This is such a clever idea! Turning nesting bowls into pendant lights, and this project is not even hard, you can be ready with it in no time. You just need a couple of tools and some pretty nesting bowls to get started.
You can add some personality to your room by covering your lampshades with fabric. You can choose any type, pattern or color of your choice, that fits your style. The best in my opinion is to choose lighter fabric and color, so the light can shine through it, when it is on. You can learn how to do it here.
I love love love industrial style, so I was very happy to find this tutorial on making a DIY industrial sconce. You can put this in your bathroom, your entryway or your hallway, anywhere you want! You can also customize it, make it longer, different color or add more lighbulbs. There are plenty of options!
Painting existing furniture to give it a new fresh touch is one of my favorite projects. I love painting, and it will make such a big difference in your space without spending a lot of money and it also doesn’t require that much time. I also have furniture painting posts and videos, but here is one, that is quite special and unique.
DIY made pouf
If you love these pretty little colorful poufs, but always passed on buying one, here is the chance to make one yourself for the fraction of the price! There is a free pattern, that comes in the article and a step-by-step guide on how to make it. It adds extra seating or footrest to your living room or kid’s room!
